DISCOUNT PERMITS

PERMIT TYPES AND REQUIREMENTS

If a HARTPlus ID permit is lost, the replacement fee is $5.00 The HARTPlus ID does not imply eligibility, and can be rescinded by HART at any time.

A HARTPlus ID can also be used to ride fixed route at the discounted rate.

SENIOR PERMIT

Must be age 65 or older

State of Florida I.D. required

$2.50 fee, permanently valid

MEDICARE CARDHOLDERS

Medicare participants need only show their original red, white and blue Medicare card onboard to obtain the discount fare to ride

No HART discount permit will be required

ADULT STUDENT FARE PROGRAM

Discount of 25% off fare available to students of participating colleges and universities. MORE INFO

YOUTH PERMIT

Must be between the ages of 5 and 18

Original birth certificate, passport, state ID or Hillsborough County School documentation with typed birthdate

Middle Schools and High School students need only to present their school ID to obtain the discount fare to ride

$2.50 fee, valid for two years or until 18th birthday

PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES PERMIT

Must fill out a HART patron persons with disabilities application and have proper doctor certification. Instructions

$2.50 fee, permanent disability valid for five years; temporary condition valid for six months

All permits subject to HART rules and regulations

Replacement permits are $5.00

VETERANS PERMIT

Must have Veteran Administration Disable ID with “Service Connected”

$2.50 fee, permanently valid

All permits subject to HART rules and regulations.

Replacement permits are $5.00

*Passengers who do not have their Discount Permit, or cannot produce proof of eligibility for the fare when boarding the bus, must purchase a regular fare.
